After his first Aerospace engineering studies, he received his dental surgery degree in Brazil, where he also completed his first orthodontics training and became a certified specialist in Orthodontics at an Air Force Hospital. He is also a reserve lieutenant of the Brazilian Air Force, thus, a Veteran in Brazil.
During his orthodontic treatment residency there, he translated “Modern Edgewise Mechanics and the Segmented Arch Technique”, a book by Dr. Charles J. Burstone, the most respected orthodontic mechanics scientist at the time, to Portuguese.
As a result of experiments derived from reading and understanding the book, he perfected one of Dr. Burstone’s mechanisms for orthodontic treatment: a calibrated spring for space closure that self corrected its force system while the spaces of previous dental extractions closed.
He published the results a paper in the prestigious American Journal of Orthodontics, the number 1 ranked Orthodontics Journal in the world as a sole author, a rare accomplishment for just an apprentice orthodontist.
His paper and accomplishment were held in such high regard on an international level that he was invited to pursue a Ph.D. in Oral Biology (Biomechanics) and attend a second residency in the United States at Indiana University (which means that he’s a double orthodontics specialty training!).

During his residency at Indiana University, he treated six difficult braces cases, including early treatment cases, with excellence, one of which was chosen for display in an AAO meeting for study by other peers. In his free time, he is studying to be a certified marketer (CXL) in several areas, is a certified sommelier, mixologist and barista and enjoys various hobbies, including cooking, collecting fragrances, espresso and latte art, weightlifting, traveling, and reading philosophy. Recently he started japanese ancient sword training- Iaijutsu. He also collects your beautiful smiles, of course!
